This course will provide an overview of emergency management in the United States, and how it evolved over the past century. Unfortunately, our response to a crisis was always a reactive rather than a proactive approach. We will look at the evolution of the development of a proactive approach to crisis response that resulted in lessons learned from disasters we experienced.
